More transparency, better carrier collaboration and faster time-to-market are all gains that can significantly impact manufacturers—and can be traced back to an increasingly digitalized supply chain. This panel discussion with Transporeon customers DS Smith, MAPEI Corporation and Gerdau Long Steel North America focuses on how efficiency-building programs and tools can lay the foundation for a more controllable freight strategy. Watch now to see how robust logistics automation solutions can drive significant cost and process improvements, and how smart shipment execution can help manufacturers achieve a competitive edge.
At any given time I can pull data from the data lake to understand how we’re shipping for the day. We’ve improved the carrier networks, we’ve enhanced the people. There’s a lot of engagement at, not just on the customer experience and the carriers, but also within the department and the teams. It's exciting to talk about what else we can do."
Mike Jones, Director of Logistics,
We reduced our trucking prices by 20% over the last few years, beating the market rates. We now have real data on actuals paid, accessorials and carrier KPIs. We can identify issues as they are rising and nip them in the bud so that we’re not having these carry on for months and years on end, and we can look at the carrier KPIs and hold them accountable for what they’re supposed to be doing as far as acceptance goes, as far as on-time delivery goes and their adherence to the route guide cost."
Aaron Clark, Procurement Manager Head of Logistics,
About a thousand customer orders were tendered through the system on that first month. Out of that, almost 80% went with No Touch—in other words, the order went straight from our system into the TMS system, straight to the carrier, got booked, got set up and the first time that the folks in the in the building knew it was being handled was it was showing up on our dock scheduling board as a carrier was booking an appointment to come pick it up. That was huge for us to see that much of a transformation. "

Or do you want to share a special thanks to someone who has gone beyond the call of duty to help keep supply chains open?
