SAVING TIME AND ACHIEVING GROWTH WITH TRANSPOREON

Customer

Based in Poland, ABC-Czepczyński is a family-run freight forwarding company operating across Europe. Established in 1997, the company today counts 180 employees. It first opened for business with its own fleet of vehicles. Since 2008 it started to cooperate with 200 subcontracted carriers and adds more carrier resources when required and on a case-by-case basis. The carrier uses the Transporeon platforms to bid for work, communicate, and collaborate with 60 shipping customers, each month processing around 1,500 transport orders on the platforms, with volumes steadily rising. ABC-CZEPCZYŃSKI ABC-Czepczyński is committed to ethical business operations and respecting social concerns. The freight forwarder is also involved in numerous projects and measures relating to corporate social responsibility.

Time, knowledge and money are central resources today. Transporeon services save us a lot of time. We use this time to inform ourselves in the system who is inviting tenders or transport orders via ‘best carrier’. The platform has enabled us to intensify our cooperation with many customers and to grow more strongly than ever before.

Challenges

  • It was time consuming to communicate by phone, fax, and email with shippers; sometimes information about transport orders was incomplete.
  • Additional time had to be invested in agreeing offline about loading and unloading dates.
  • Information on transport offers on the spot market and overview of tenders was missing.
  • Finding new customers required time-consuming researches.

Solution

ABC-Czepczyński now cooperates with 60 shippers via the Transporeon platforms and additionally uses the platform for its strategic business development.

  • These shipping customers allocate transport via a combination of Transporeon Transport Assignment ‘no-touch’ orders (contract-based, automatic assignment with agreed freight routes and freight types) and ‘best-carrier’ orders (day-by-day spot-market assignment to a closed pool of carriers).
  • The freight forwarder aims for 40% no-touch orders and 60% best-carrier orders, and bids for spot market business from current customers as well as other shippers.
  • When shippers also use Transporeon Time Slot Management / Transport Visibility, ABC-Czepczyński can book its own loading and unloading time slots directly on the Transporeon platform, submit status messages, and confirm delivery.
  • Quick and easy participation in tenders via the Ticontract platform.
