The can’t-miss digital event for logistics professionals

This year our conference is going digital! We’re taking the challenges 2020 has brought and turning them into an opportunity for even greater connection and sharing. That means we’re taking all of the exciting topics, presentations, and networking opportunities we had planned for our March event and moving them online.

Hosting this event remotely also allows us to expand our capacity, which means we’re able to open this event to all Carrier and Shipping professionals, totally for free!

Big Data & Sustainability — Driving Best-Practice Logistics

This year’s theme is all about using the best new digital tools to make shipping as sustainable as possible. With ever advancing technology — and increasingly urgent calls for more sustainable solutions — it’s more important than ever to plan for the future.

Our half-day agenda includes keynote speeches, panel discussions, and digital networking sessions. Choose a session from one of our three, simultaneous stages (Tracks A, B, and C) — and don’t worry, you can switch stages at any time. All sessions will be recorded and shared after the event, so you’ll always be able to go back and see what you missed!

This Transporeon conference differs from other conferences: I found that its really specific towards innovation and you meet people with likeminded agendas.

Jack Heng, Regional Logistics Manager, Europe, Russia Africa,

SHELL INTERNATIONAL PETROLEUM COMPANY LIMITED

Special Guest: Richard van Hooijdonk

Trendwatcher, futurist and international keynote speaker Richard van Hooijdonk takes you to an inspiring future that will dramatically change the way we live, work and do business.

What does logistics look like in the world of automatic traffic flows? How do algorithms and the Internet of Things ensure a fully automated supply chain? And what is the impact of new production technologies like 3D printing?
The future of logistics and transport offers solutions to many of the challenges we face today.

Technology causes acceleration in transport and logistics. In the future, self-driving systems will drive through the city ‘like trains’, drones will control transport from the airport and we will all have
a self-driving car that effortlessly takes us from A to B. Logistics technology will have a significant impact on production chains and 3D printers will create unprecedented disruption in the supply chain.
Logistics and transportation are ready for these changes. Are you?

Keynote: James Walton

Chief Economist at IGD

James’ role at IGD is to help businesses anticipate and cope with strategic events, including: economic pressures, geo-political change, social developments and environmental stress. James is well known for speaking at both UK and international events and provides interviews for TV, radio and the press. He also creates original reports and articles for IGD. James has worked with clients across the entire grocery industry as well as with non-industry groups such as government departments, financial businesses and NGOs. James joined IGD in April 1999 and has served in several roles, becoming Chief Economist in 2004.

Prior to joining IGD, he worked for Hillsdown Holdings, Northern Foods and Rank-Xerox.

Having used the Transporeon tools for a period of time it was very nice for me hearing about next stages and developments and as a result of that to share the experience with the rest of the businesses here.
