In October 2020, Mercareon GmbH will be merged into Transporeon GmbH. Transporeon will be the universal successor to Mercareon. The custom-fit retail solutions from Mercareon will remain the same.
Transporeon will integrate Mercareon GmbH into Transporeon GmbH in October. The Mercareon brand will continue under the umbrella of Transporeon. Mercareon’s tailored retail solutions, such as its well-known time slot management, will continue to be accessible via the Mercareon platform.
Growing demand for industry-independent solutions along the supply chain
In 2010, Mercareon was founded as an independent limited liability company with the goal of quickly offering digital control of retail deliveries. The concept of developing the new business area with a dynamic start-up was very successful: Today, Mercareon is the European market leader and connects over 60 retailers with more than 15,000 carriers and over 5,000 suppliers. The start-up became the best-known time slot management solution for the retail industry.
“In recent years, digitalisation and networking along the supply chain have increased significantly. This has led to a close meshing of Mercareon and Transporeon solutions. Our companies have already been working closely together and have aligned their internal structures. In October, we will establish a legal structure that will finally reflect the already well-established operational status quo,” says Stephan Sieber, CEO of Transporeon.
Mercareon employees started reporting to the respective Transporeon executives in April 2020. Beginning in October 2020, Leander Kling, Managing Director of Mercareon, will strengthen the strategic product management of Transporeon Group with his many years of industry and market expertise.
“Many Mercareon customers are already using the Transporeon platform for services such as transport allocation and real-time tracking of their deliveries. In the past, they had to enter into contracts with two separate companies for this purpose. With the integration of Mercareon, they will benefit from faster and easier access to the entire product portfolio – with only one contractual partner. This makes it even easier to combine the various services. In addition, our retail customers and their transport service providers benefit from Transporeon's comprehensive support structure currently available in 24 languages worldwide,” adds Leander Kling.
The merger is part of the strategic realignment
The integration of Mercareon fits the realignment strategy of Transporeon. “We are currently expanding our business model from a primary solution provider for industrial and commercial shippers to a leading logistics network. The merger of Mercareon with Transporeon has allowed us to take another step in this direction,” says Stephan Sieber.
