Media Markt, the leader in omnichannel sales on the consumer electronics market in Poland, is optimising its logistics processes. In cooperation with Transporeon, it is implementing automation in the management of delivery windows in its Distribution Centres. These measures will improve the organization of warehouse supply.
The launch is planned for the second half of April 2021.
As a distributor of modern consumer electronics, Media Markt cares about the security of its hardware supply based on optimal logistics processes. Mercareon's program for managing delivery time windows, will enable suppliers to independently book unloading windows whose length is adapted to the volume and characteristics of the assortment, and thus ensure more efficient ramp management and effective cooperation with suppliers and carriers.
Improved customer experience
The cooperation between Media Markt and Transporeon is aimed at improving the efficiency of the process, speeding up the availability of delivered products and ultimately increasing the satisfaction of both retail partners and Media Markt customers. The implemented solution will provide, among other things:
• Greater cost efficiency in logistics processes
• Reliable planning of deliveries and unloading windows
• Optimization of warehouse acceptance processes
• Reduced waiting time for the arrival, unloading and departure of FTL
• Faster equipment transfers to chain stores
• Detailed reporting and KPIs for all parties in the process, such as: transport service providers, shippers, carriers, third party logistics providers and Media Markt.
“We are currently working on an implementation project and are awaiting the launch of the tool offered by Mercareon," says Zbigniew Tunkiewicz, Logistics Manager at MediaMarktSaturn Polska. "This is yet another step in the creation of modern 'client-centric' logistics that will provide us with full transparency and automation in the management of delivery processes to our Distribution Centers in Poland and indirectly speed up the transit of products to our customers".
“Helping a company like MediaMarktSaturn optimize their logistics processes is what we’re all about,” says Gracjan Podgorski, Sales Lead Eastern Europe at Transporeon. “We couldn’t be more excited to get started and show them how the data from our platform — especially the Dashboard & Reporting module — can lead to significant improvements in security, transparency, efficiency, and more.”
